A primer is a short nucleic acid sequence that provides a starting point for DNA synthesis. In living organisms, primers are short strands of RNA. A primer must be synthesize by an enzyme primase, which is a type of RNA polymerase, before DNA replication can occur.
Federal primers are still out of stock, but there are some primers available, including Tula small rifle primers, Winchester large rifle and large rifle magnum. … Ballistic Products has primers in stock!
So what’s going on here — why can’t you find primers? One reason is that primer producers such as Federal and CCI are using the vast majority of the primers they make to complete their loaded ammunition, which is flying off the shelves.
Advantages of using a Small Rifle primer rather than the typical Large Rifle version are twofold. Use of the smaller, less aggressive cap can result in better consistency, particularly in the form of tighter standard deviations
IMR4227 does not need magnum primers to ignite. It does tho, like a full case(at or near compressed loads) and a firm crimp for complete burn. As others have said, while H110/W296 require mag primers in small cases like . 357, most other powders do not.
- Industry-leading precision and consistency
- Reliable ignition
- Built to extremely tight tolerances
